Delta Bond SBR (PVA BASED UNDERCOAT FOR WALLS BEFORE PAINTING)

DELTA BOND SBR is a styrene butadiene co polymer latex. It is used where good adhesion and water resistance are required for site made cementitious mortars.

Properties : The product is extremely stable in cement and is added to cement based mortars to give the following properties,

  • Good flexural and compressive strength.
  • Improves mortar plasticity.
  • Resistant to gasoline, oils and salt.
  • Reduces shrinkage.
  • Excellent water resistance.
  • Increased abrasive and chemical resistance.
  • Non corrosive.
  • Does not re emulsify.

Standards : DELTA BOND SBR is tested in accordance to BS6319 part 4. ASTM1042, Type II Suitable for use in mortar in contact with drinking water.

Scope of Use :

  • Industrial Flooring
  • Basecoat for renderings
  • Concrete repair
  • Drinking water reservoirs
  • Abrasion resistant linings
  • Jointing mortar for masonry
  • Cement based adhesives

Characteristic :

Appearance Milky white liquid
Specific Gravity 1.00 + 0.05
Solid Content 38 – 40%
PH 9
Solubility Miscible in water
Chloride content Nil (EN 934 -2)

Instruction for Use :

FLOOR SCREEDS: Prime the surface with DELTA BOND SBR diluted with water at the ratio of 1:2.While the surface is still tacky pour the screed mixed with DELTA BOND SBR at a dosage of 3% to 8% of the weight of cement. Spread the screed and smoothen it manually or by means of a slating machine.

for jointing the mortars, tilling and repair works: Depending on the application and performance required DELTABOND can be mixed with clean water within the range of 1:1 to 1:4..

Slurry preparation: A bonding slurry typical mix is as given below,

  • 1 part of cement
  • 3 to 4 parts of coarse aggregates
  • 0.05 to 0.1 parts on weight of cementof DELTA BOND SBR.

PRECAUTIONS: Wind and direct sunlight must be avoided. In strong wind it is recommended to cover the surface with a polyethylene foil.

Note: DELTA BOND SBR has high storage stability. It is stable even at temperatures as low as -2oC, but storage temperatures should not exceed +45o C. There is a slight tendency of creaming, so DELTA BOND SBR should be stirred before use.

Applications : The product is ready to use. Apply the product with a spatula or a putty knife; apply with sufficient thickness to cover all irregularities. Wait till dry and apply the second coat to finish the surface to get a smooth finish. Wait for 10 hours and then apply the required coating over the putty.

Packing : In 4 and 20 ltr, plastic can.
